Jump into free-motion stitching! Whether you are a beginner at free-motion stitching or have done it for a while, you learn how to use your sewing machine to add dimension to your quilts!
Adding stitching to your fabric piece not only binds your quilt sandwich together, but it can add to your design. Whether you are creating a traditional quilt and want to add interest, or you have an art quilt and you want to add dimension to your design, stitches are one way of accomplishing that. The possibilities are endless. Once you overcome the fear of free-motion and realize that your sewing machine is another tool to create, you’ll find that free-motion stitching can be a lot of fun!
This workshop is appropriate for anyone who wants to learn free-motion, but you need to be familiar with your sewing machine and its free-motion capabilities. There is no time to help someone trouble-shoot sewing machine issues in this workshop.
Session Fee: $45
Pattern Fee: $20 per pattern
*Please note that workshops are subject to change or cancellation based on enrollment. We need a minimum number of participants to hold a workshop. If we don’t reach that number, we’ll let you know, and you’ll have the option to join a later scheduled session. 😊
When you sign up for the workshop, you’ll get to pick your panel and share your mailing address so I can send it your way. Panels will be shipped about four weeks before the workshop (timing may vary depending on the mail service). You’ll also receive a separate email with the supply list. In this special 1-day workshop, attendees will use their own fabric during the initial stitching exercises to gain confidence. Then, using a printed fabric panel of one of Rhonda’s fiber art projects, will plan for and practice stitching for dimension and interest before sewing on their panel. At the end of the workshop, you should be well on your way to creating your project, gaining confidence in your own free motion sewing abilities. You can then finish the project on your own time.
Workshop Kit: You will choose between the three different printed fat-quarter panels below: Sunrise at Cap Rock, Sunflowers, or Cardinal. (Note: The actual printed panel size may vary based on the design, as images are printed to fit the fat-quarter fabric.)
This workshop experience will increase your confidence so you can add your own special stitching touch to your fabric pieces. Come prepared to expand your quilting skills toolset!

You can easily update the quantity of any item by following these steps:
- Locate the QTY Box: Find the item you wish to adjust and look for the box labeled “QTY” (typically displaying the current quantity, e.g., QTY 1).
- Click on the QTY Box: Click on the box showing the current quantity. This action will make the quantity field editable.
- Enter the Desired Quantity: Type in the new quantity you want for that item. You can either use the keyboard to type the number directly or use any up/down arrow buttons if available.
- Confirm the Change: After entering the new quantity, press Enter or click outside the box to confirm the change. The system will update the quantity accordingly.
