Earlier this year in my February newsletter, with the Subject Line of "Can I Fix It? What is Wicking?", I talked about my Mother Teresa project and some pigment wicking issues. (Well okay, the newsletter was mistakenly dated January 24th but it was sent out in the early am of Feb 3rd. I am still learning how to create these newsletters!! ;-) I will try to do better!)
This is a continuation of my discussion in my January 24, 2022 newsletter. As I mentioned then, there is not a simple, straightforward answer to the question of "Is coloring on Fabric like coloring on Paper".
This project is our first collaborative effort. It has been interesting working together on this piece. This is very different than most of us are used to. Our goal is to have the piece complete by this summer. Each of us has taken a portion of the piece to create. Then the pieces will come together to create the art quilt.
Today I want to discuss the importance of nurturing your own creative journey and suggestions on how to do that.
I am excited to be able to say that I have taught my techniques internationally. My first teaching experience was in Kenya, East Africa, in 2012. In 2019 I traveled to Europe and taught in both Poland and Ukraine. The difference was that my workshop attendees spoke very little, if any, English. My success with the workshops was due to the excellent translators that worked with me.
I thought it would be fun to occasionally share a bit about myself and the family in my newsletters. That includes where I live, the animals we have, and some of the adventures and antics that can fill our days. I will call these R&R Adventures.
