Lunchtime Secrets 60” x 60” Fiber Art 2019.

As I was walking down the hallway in a small library depot, out of the corner of my eye I saw this old circa 1910 photograph hanging on the wall. I had to go back and look at it. What a story it was telling me! I utilized it as my inspiration for part of this fiber art piece. I loved the challenge of creating an old album page, complete with photo tabs, and a sepia tone photograph. Much of this piece involved new techniques to me, and I was not sure how it would come out. It was fun creating more details with pigments and stitching and watching how it emerged from the fabric.
I loved creating this fiber art piece because of the interesting story it expressed. This was a new technique, dye painting, and I was not sure how it would come out. It was
fun creating more details with added pigments and stitching and watching how it emerged from the fabric. I also wanted the piece to look like a page from an old album, with the photograph much handled, and a little dirty from it, and much loved.
