Pigment Patchwork isn’t just a wonderful read–(& it really is that!), it is also an encouraging guide through what is seemingly an intimidating artistic process. What Rhonda does so well in this book is break down her process into small, manageable bits. She then weaves them together as if telling a thrilling story. You can really hear her artistic voice throughout the text. As a beginner quilter, I found this book to be very encouraging; I had never thought of including fabric embellishment beyond applique, but after reading, I am so excited to try my hand at some of these techniques. I found the projects included in the book along with the Resource section in the back to be particularly helpful. I couldn’t recommend this book enough!

I just love this book – Pigment Patchwork. This isn’t a dry step by step how to book. The author gives you the feeling that you are on a guided journey with lots of pictures and explanations on the why’s and how’s. She also helps you open up to explore and find your own voice instead of being a one trick pony. This book even includes a section on how to correct mistakes which takes the frustration factor totally out of the picture. This is a great reference book that I will keep going back for more and more as I grow. Well worth the time and money. Jenae
