The Westcliffe Contemporary Quilters and Fiber Artists (WCQFA) guild, Westcliffe, Colorado, issued a challenge to its members:  To create a 12” x 12” art quilt illustrating our own interpretation of a topic utilizing many aspects of quilting, edging and surface design.  The resulting quilts were shown at several galleries and quilt shows.

Topic Word: Technology

I loved the juxtaposition of the robotic hand (technology) holding the earth.  I felt that it was a good reminder of the tenuous relationship that could occur with the potential abuse of technology and mother earth and/or people.  Think about it!

Construction: commercial cotton, insulation fabric, grommets, rubber ball, acrylic paint and permanent ink.
